Job description

Reporting to the Pipelayer, the Pipelayer Helper is responsible for providing physical labor support to the pipelayer during all phases of construction and production.

How You’ll Add Value
  • Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment
  • Shovel around live utilities to expose them without causing damage to prevent service disruptions and maintain safety
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate proper alignment and movement of materials for efficient installation
  • Remove large rocks and debris turned up by heavy equipment to maintain a clear and hazard-free worksite
  • Load, unload, and move construction materials to support workflow and keep operations running smoothly
  • Spread gravel and other materials using a rake or shovel to prepare surfaces for concrete structures and padding
  • Shovel test holes by locating markers and quarantining exposed pipes, marking them with stakes, paint, or ribbon to ensure proper identification
  • Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators, and tampers as required to assist with excavation and material compaction
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:
Qualifications & Experience
  • Physically able to safely lift and carry 40 lbs regularly
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions
