Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods is seeking a Reliability Pipe-Fitter/Plumber in Hamilton, Ontario to maintain and service facility equipment and ensure safe plant operations. You will perform planned maintenance, troubleshoot piping systems, and install upgrades across steam, hot water, brine, and related systems.

The role requires 2+ years in manufacturing, certifications (307A/306A), CMMS experience, and a safety-minded, communicative, self-motivated approach.

Qualifications

• Certified steam fitter and plumber with relevant licenses.
• 2+ years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience with CMMS; SAP knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive and predictive maintenance and keep records in CMMS.
• Troubleshoot repairs and install piping system upgrades.
• Repair and maintain hot water, steam, brine and cooling systems.
• Read blueprints and assist planners; ensure safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with reliability peers to complete scheduled PMs.

The Opportunity

The Reliability Pipe- Fitter / Plumber will be responsible for maintaining and servicing equipment used in the facility. They will ensure safe plant operations and a safe working environment for all employees.

Hourly Wage: $42.11 Single ticket /$44.12 Dual ticket

Snapshot Of a Day-in-the-Life

• Conduct planned preventive & predictive maintenance Work Orders and keep maintenance records and enter required information into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• As needed Troubleshoot corrective work repairs and install processing pipework repairs and upgrades.
• Complete Pipe repairs and system maintenance activities (eg. hot water,steam, brine and cold water systems)
• General facilities work in the plant with plumbing repairs to Sinks, Eye Wash Stations, Emergency Safety Showers and drain systems as needed to the Waste Water Plant.
• Assist in planning, organizing of work activities (drawing interpretation, parts preparation) and provide feedback to planners to improve current system of work.
• Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain piping systems and various production systems as needed (eg. vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems).
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematic and drawings to determine work procedures and/or order necessary parts and participate knowledge to plant issues.
• Collaborate with Reliability Peers to ensure that all preventive and predictive routines are completed at predetermined intervals.
• Continually analyze and improve the state of current PMs and corrective work orders by participating in weekly meetings with supervision.

What You’ll Bring

• Certified Steam Fitter/Pipe Fitter (307A)
• Certified Plumber (306A)
• 2+ years experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment
• Experience with CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems). SAP Knowledge would be an asset.
• High regard to safety and environment in both own personal work and that of others in team
• Well-developed interpersonal skills in communications and team dynamics
• Strong oral and written communications
• Self-motivated and passionate individual who has a high sense of urgency, thrives with a wide variety of work and can deliver consistent results on multiple priorities.
