Job summary

BEMAC is seeking qualified Pipefitters for an on-site role at a remote camp location near Fort MacKay, Alberta. The project involves the Imperial Oil Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System, with a 21 days on/7 days off rotation and 10-hour days.

The position offers fly-in, fly-out from Edmonton or Calgary based on eligibility. Hourly rates range from $32.15/hr to $53.58/hr. Apprenticeship to Journeyperson Red Seal level is required, with valid safety tickets such as Fall Arrest.

Qualifications

• Apprentice up to and including Journeyperson Red Seal level.
• Strong technical knowledge and proven pipefitting experience.
• Industrial setting experience required.
• Knowledge and experience with industrial construction and operations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to clearly communicate with all levels of a project organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements.
• Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines.
• Select type and size of pipe required.
• Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools.
• Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system.
• Install supports, valves, piping and control systems.
• Hydrotest system for leaks using testing equipment.
• Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system.
• Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system.
• Other duties as required.

The shift is planned to be 21 days on and 7 days off rotation, 10-hour days. While the preference is to hire candidates who resides locally, fly-in, fly-out from Edmonton, Alberta or Calgary, Albertawill be available based on eligibility.

Hourly rate: Ranges from $32.15/hr. to $53.58/hr.

As part of the recruitment process, successful clearance of applicable pre-employment checks is required which may include Criminal Background/Police Information check, Drug & Alcohol test, Reference checks as well as submittal of Provincial Driver’s Abstract. In addition, standard HSE certifications may be required including WHMIS, First Aid etc.
