Job summary

NS Modular is seeking a Pipe Fabrication Project Coordinator to support industrial piping and modular fabrication projects from award through turnover. You will work with Project Managers, QA/QC, shop Supervisors, Materials, and clients to track progress and coordinate priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This role is ideal for an experienced tradesperson or project professional who understands piping fabrication and wants to advance into project management, with on-site work at office/shop

Qualifications

• Journeyperson certificate in Pipefitting is a strong asset.
• Experience in industrial pipe fabrication or module fabrication.
• Welding, fabrication, inspection, or QA/QC exposure is an asset.
• Background in oil and gas, industrial, mechanical or construction environments is an asset.
• Previous project coordination or project management experience is an asset.
• Ability to read piping isometrics and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of P&IDs, piping systems, welding, NDE, hydrotesting, coating, galvanizing, material traceability, and shipping.
• Proficiency with MS Office 365; experience with Project/SharePoint/Bluebeam/Power BI or SAP is an asset.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; able to work with diverse teams.
• Safety training certificates are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support industrial pipe fabrication and modular projects from award through turnover.
• Maintain schedules, lookaheads, trackers, and milestone dates.
• Track fabrication progress by work package, spool, weld status, and RFIs.
• Coordinate with Fabrication, Materials, QA/QC, Document Control, and clients.
• Read piping isometrics and related project documentation; manage drawings revisions.
• Assist with load planning, shipping, and client deliverables.
• Prepare weekly progress reports and meeting minutes.
• Identify scope changes and support commercial requirements.
• Assist with close-out, MDRs, as-built docs, and turnover.

NS Modular is growing, and we're on the lookout for a passionate, detail-driven Pipe Fabrication Project Coordinator, whose primary responsibility is to support industrial piping and modular fabrication projects. This position will work directly with Project Managers, Document Control, Shop Supervisors, Materials, QA/QC, trades, subcontractors, vendors, logistics personnel, and clients to support projects from award through final turnover.

This position is well suited to an experienced tradesperson or industrial project professional who understands how piping is fabricated and wants to continue developing into project management.

Work Location:

This position requires employees to work on-site at both the office/shop and project locations during scheduled working hours. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support industrial pipe fabrication and modular projects from project award through final turnover and close-out
• Maintain project schedules, three-week and six-week lookaheads, progress trackers, and key milestone or RAS dates
• Track fabrication progress by work package, CWP, spool, control number, FDI, weld status, or other project-specific requirements
• Spend time in the fabrication shop and yard verifying actual project status and coordinating priorities
• Coordinate with Fabrication, Materials, QA/QC, Document Control, Construction Management, Yard, Logistics, vendors, and subcontractors
• Read and interpret piping isometrics, fabrication drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and related project documentation
• Track drawing revisions and assist with RFIs and technical queries Monitor material status, shortages, kitting, and fabrication readiness
• Assist with weld, NDE, PWHT, hydrotest, coating, galvanizing, and quality tracking
• Coordinate with external coating, galvanizing, NDE, transportation, and other subcontractors
• Assist with load planning, bills of lading, staging, shipping, and delivery sequencing
• Participate in client meetings and prepare or present project progress information
• Prepare weekly progress reports, schedules, action registers, meeting minutes, and client deliverables
• Assist with identifying and documenting scope changes, change request notices, progress quantities, billing support, and other commercial requirements
• Identify potential schedule, material, drawing, quality, fabrication, or logistics issues before they impact project milestones
• Support project close-out, MDRs, as-built documentation, and final client turnover

What You Bring to the Table

• Journeyperson certificate in Pipefitting is a strong asset
• Industrial pipe fabrication and or module fabrication experience
• Welding, fabrication, inspection, or QA/QC experience would be an asset
• Previous work in oil and gas, industrial, mechanical, or construction environments would be an asset
• Previous project coordination or project management experience would be an asset
• Ability to read and interpret piping isometrics and fabrication drawings
• Working knowledge of P&IDs, piping systems, welding, NDE, hydrotesting, coating, galvanizing, material traceability, and shipping activities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) is required
• Experience with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Bluebeam, Power BI, Global Shop, SAP, TeamBinder, or similar systems would be an asset
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively with tradespeople, shop supervisors, management, vendors, and clients
• Ability to handle competing priorities simultaneously; work well under pressure with time-sensitive deadlines
• Willingness to investigate discrepancies, ask questions, and follow issues through to resolution
• Strong problem-solving skills with the judgment to elevate issues when appropriate
• Strong ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability to the Project Manager and project team
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all times
• Any valid safety-related training certificates would be considered an asset (i.e., WHMIS, forklift, fall protection, etc.)
• Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
