Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga Hospital is seeking a Physiotherapist for a temporary part-time role in the Neuro/MSK department. You will deliver client-centered physiotherapy for post-operative orthopedic patients, primarily hip and knee replacements, on-site during days and evenings.

Key Qualifications

• Registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and in good standing
• Membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred
• Experience in the management of post-operative care of orthopaedic injuries/conditions, primarily hip and knee replacements, within an acute in-patient setting.
• Evidence of continuing education, professional and personal development is required. Completion of specialized orthopaedic courses and/or certification in orthopaedic intervention techniques is an asset
• Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional, able to work effectively and collaboratively with a high performance team, as well as families and community partners,
• Sound knowledge of community resources is an asset
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• A second language is considered an asset

Position Summary

• Responsible for the delivery of client-centered physiotherapy services for patients who are post-operative following orthopaedic surgery, primarily the hip and knee joint replacement populations
• Provides physiotherapy assessment, goal oriented treatment interventions, client/family education and support to address medical and emotional needs.
• Performs as a coach/mentor, consultant and uses sound critical thinking skills to achieve client outcomes and facilitate team functions.
• Participates in program planning, continuous quality improvement and evaluation.
• Supervises support personnel, students and volunteers as appropriate
