We are looking for a Physiotherapist to join our Adult Day Program team to provide professional rehabilitation support services in an adult day program setting, focusing on health promotion, well-being, independence, and maintaining functional abilities. This position works within a collaborative multidisciplinary team including healthcare professionals from nursing and allied health fields. Using strong clinical and interpersonal skills, you will implement physiotherapy services according to regulatory and AHS standards, employing best practices and a client-centered approach, engaging clients, families, caregivers, physicians, and other healthcare entities. Physiotherapy services may include therapeutic interventions, education, and resource connection. You will develop and contribute to care plans in collaboration with clients and other providers to ensure services are adapted based on client responses.
Description:
As a Physiotherapist I (PT), you will deliver therapeutic interventions to help clients achieve optimal physical function and independence, addressing development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, and functional decline. Your duties include prevention, triage, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, case management, referrals, and transition support for individuals, groups, and communities. You will actively involve clients and families in care planning, collaborating with them to determine and evaluate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in interprofessional teams, contribute to quality improvement, and engage in professional development activities such as peer mentoring and supervision of students, therapy assistants, and aides.

- Location: Sturgeon Community Hospital
- FTE: 0.40
- Salary Range: $38.90 to $51.80 per hour
- Temporary position from May 30, 2025, to December 31, 2025
- Shift: Days, 7.75 hours per shift, 12-week cycle
- Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy, current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta, 6 months of physiotherapy experience, BCLS-HCP certification, ability to lift approximately 25 lbs.
- Preferred: Experience in Continuing Care, Connect Care, and at least 2 years of physiotherapy experience, along with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy
- Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta
- 6 months physiotherapy experience or relevant practicum experience
- BCLS-HCP certification
- Ability to work in various settings and lift equipment
Preferred qualifications include experience in Continuing Care, Connect Care, and a minimum of 2 years of experience, with additional skills such as being an AADL Authorizer.
