Edmonton Zone Continuing Care provides services through five main program areas: Home Living, Supportive Living, Facility Living, Transition Services and Palliative Care. We are looking for a Physiotherapist to join our Home Living team to provide professional support services in the homes of clients of all ages and stages of life. This position works within a collaborative multidisciplinary team consisting of various healthcare professionals from nursing and allied health professions. The team conducts home or site visits to deliver client-centered services to individuals with a wide variety of physical, cognitive, and mental health conditions, including complex health needs.

Using strong clinical and interpersonal skills, you will implement physiotherapy services in accordance with regulatory and AHS practice standards, using best practices and a client-centered approach. You will engage clients, families/caregivers, physicians, broader healthcare teams, and other agencies as needed. Services may include therapeutic interventions, education, and resource connection. You will contribute to and modify care plans based on client responses, collaborating with clients and healthcare providers.

This role is based out of the Leduc Home Care office but will support the Suburban/Rural East team, including travel to other offices as required.

As a Physiotherapist I, you will provide therapeutic interventions to help clients achieve optimal physical function and independence. Your services will encompass prevention, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, and case management, involving clients and families actively in care decisions. You will work with interprofessional teams, contribute to quality improvements, and may supervise students and clinical staff.

  • Salary: $38.90 - $51.80/hour
  • Vehicle Requirement: Driver's License, Vehicle Required

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
  • Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to provide exceptional clinical care in a dynamic environment
  • Effective communication and assessment skills
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS HCP)
  • Ability to work independently in various home settings and lift/move medical equipment (~25-30 lbs)
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Visio, Outlook, and internet navigation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Home Care and with Connect Care
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
