Your Opportunity:
A new team at Willow Square Continuing Care Centre in Fort McMurray requires a part-time (0.5 FTE) Physiotherapist to join a multidisciplinary team for a 10-bed short stay rehabilitation unit. The Physiotherapist I (Physiotherapist) will be responsible for comprehensive assessments, consultations, and treatment programs for clients. This position offers an opportunity to be an integral part of a supportive team, demonstrating initiative and leadership. You will actively participate in program development within a patient- and family-focused environment, utilizing evidence-based practices to coordinate and develop rehabilitation plans, and providing direction to a Therapy Assistant. This role also offers the chance to develop within a new program.

As a Physiotherapist I, you will provide therapeutic interventions to help clients achieve optimal physical function and independence across various conditions, including development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, and functional decline. Your responsibilities include prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, resourcefulness fostering, case management, referral, and transition support for individuals, groups, and communities. You will involve clients and families as active members of the healthcare team, collaborating with them to determine, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation strategies. You will work within interprofessional teams to promote awareness, support, and quality improvement initiatives, partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families, and stakeholders to enhance services. Additionally, you will contribute to quality improvement efforts, participate in peer mentoring, and supervise students, including clinical supervision of Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides, and Provisional Physiotherapists.
