About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Community Transitions, the Physiotherapist collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solves problems, and shares responsibilities. Working within the community with individuals and families, the physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients who are transitioning from West Bedford Transitional Health (WBTH) to home. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with clients, family members, and other health disciplines, to establish goals and provide collaborative person-centered treatment plans.

The physiotherapist is a member of the NSH Community Transitions outreach team based at Hogan Court site of WBTH but provides services to clients throughout Central Zone and will work collaboratively within the two sites of WBTH. Some opportunity to work from home is available. Winter driving skills and a reliable vehicle are required for this position.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Graduation from a university with a degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent from a recognized school of Physiotherapy
• Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
• One year post-graduation employed as a Physiotherapist required
• Experience working in the community is preferred
• Continuing education course in area of interest is an asset
• Maintain current certification in CPR
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required for home/community visits
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

• Permanent Full Time; 75 hours bi-weekly
• Hours of work may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Compensation and Benefits

$35.86 - $45.29 hourly
