About The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Continuing Care, the Physiotherapist collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solves problems, and shares responsibilities. Working within the community with individuals, families and groups, the physiotherapist assesses diagnoses and treats patients in the Community. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers with regard to health promotion and physiotherapy treatment. The physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students, and supervision of physiotherapy assistant(s)/rehab assistant(s).

The physiotherapist is a member of the NSH Community Transitions outreach team based at Hogan Court site of WBTH but provides services to clients throughout Central Zone and will work collaboratively within the two sites of WBTH. Some opportunity to work from home is available. Winter driving skills and a reliable vehicle are required for this position. About You

We would love to hear from you if have the following:

  • University graduate with a degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent from a recognized school of Physiotherapy
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
  • One year post graduation employed as a Physiotherapist required
  • Experience working in the community is preferred
  • Continuing education course in area of interest is an asset
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Community experience is preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required for home/community visits
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

  • Permanent Full Time; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • This position is based out of Hogan Court, West Bedford
  • Hours of work may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Compensation And Benefits

$36.58 - $47.5 hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
