Job Description: Physiotherapist

In accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Values, and strategic directions of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. The role involves continuous improvement of quality and safety in all aspects of the position.

The Physiotherapist reports to the Manager and is responsible for the overall operation of the Physiotherapy department. The sole charge physiotherapist provides physiotherapy services to residents, outpatients, and staff as required.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience
  • Graduation from a recognized university program in Physiotherapy.
  • Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Physiotherapist.
  • Eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA).
  • Two (2) years' previous experience in a similar setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interdependent working relationships with residents, patients, families, and staff.
  • Ability to function effectively in stressful situations.
  • Physical ability to perform duties of the job.
