Position Summary

Under the supervision of the manager of the Sport Medicine Clinic and following the guidelines of l’Ordre professionnel de la physiotherapie du Quebec, the physiotherapist is expected to provide high quality health care therapy services to the patients of the McGill sport medicine clinic.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality health care assessments and treatments following all guidelines of l’Ordre professionnel de la physiotherapie du Quebec.
  • Work in close collaboration with the interdisciplinary medical group of the clinic.
  • Participate in mentorship sessions as required.
  • Provide sport physiotherapy services to designated varsity teams whether during training periods, during competitions both on-site or at other universities.
  • Follow-up with the medical team to discuss treatments, in collaboration with the coaching staff, mentorship and teaching of physiotherapy students, interdisciplinary work required during the duration of the contract.
  • Expected to be involved with clinic activities such as in-services, work groups, research projects etc.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
  • Be a member in good standing with l’Ordre professionnel de la Physiotherapie du Quebec and Sport Physiotherapy Canada.
  • Pelvic floor rehabilitation courses/training is an asset
  • Have at least 1 years of clinical work and field work with athletes.
  • Have a valid Sports First Responders certification.
  • Manuel therapy courses are an asset.
  • Being enrolled in the Sport Physiotherapy Canada certification is an asset.

McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #4 on a scale of 0-4. Available to work outside of normal business hours including evenings and weekends, as required.

Annual contract extension is possible.

Remuneration is paid at an hourly rate - based on per patient treated
