Job summary

The University of Ottawa invites applications for Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Lab Monitor roles in the Department of Physics, Students & Casuals. You will support First Year Laboratories (PHY1XXX) at Main Campus under Prof. Michael Wong.

Position is paid hourly with undergraduate rate CAD 33.83 and graduate rate CAD 53.31; total of 130 hours between May 1 and August 31, 2027. CUPE 2626 governs the process; equity and accessibility are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Completion of 3 years of University level Physics or equivalent.
• Ability to assist with lab demonstrations and student interaction.
• Familiarity with lab grading and assessment tasks.

Responsibilities

• Correction / Notation: grading assignments, tests and midterms.
• Contact with students: assist and support during demonstrations.
• Preparation: prepare lab demonstrations and materials.
• Other duties: proctoring final exams and related tasks.
