Position Summary
The Department of Internal Medicine, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, and Shared Health Manitoba invite applications for a physician in the Section of Allergy & Immunology.
This is a part-time academic fee-for-service position with a flexible start date, negotiable based on the candidate’s availability. The candidate will provide inpatient consult, ambulatory care services, and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching to help further develop the specialty through quality education.
The successful candidate will be based at Health Sciences Centre in downtown Winnipeg, where they will apply their knowledge in evidence-based medicine to deliver comprehensive, integrated care, treatment, and support to patients within the section. As part of the healthcare team, the successful candidate must have strong communication skills and be able to interact with other members of the team, patients and their families to create a welcoming working environment and to provide quality patient care.
Candidates must hold specialty qualifications in allergy and clinical immunology from the country of their current practice and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred.
About the Section of Allergy & Immunology
The Section of Allergy & Immunology is one of 18 sections that make up the Department of Internal Medicine, the largest academic department at the Max Rady College of Medicine.
Our team benefits from extensive resources across three Winnipeg health centres: the Health Sciences Centre, St. Boniface Hospital and the Grace Hospital. Section physicians provide both inpatient consultations and outpatient care, playing a key role in patient support and specialty services.
We are committed to excellence in patient care, ground-breaking research, and high-quality medical education at all levels. Section members focus the diagnosis and management of conditions such as asthma, chronic urticaria, angioedema, drug allergies, and immunodeficiency disorders.
