BC Children's Hospital (BCCH) cares for the most acutely ill and injured children and young people in the province, providing developmental and rehabilitation services across BC. BCCH is a leading acute care teaching hospital, operating specialized health programs, and conducting research through the BC Children's Hospital Research Institute, in partnership with the University of British Columbia.

The PICU is a state-of-the-art 28-bed unit within the Teck Acute Care Centre, with over 1200 admissions annually. It offers advanced critical care, including ECMO and neurosurgical intensive care, for children with complex medical and surgical conditions such as congenital heart disease and organ transplants.
The role involves direct clinical care of critically ill children, supporting their families, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include providing outreach critical care advice, supporting inter-hospital patient transfers, and participating in the training of healthcare professionals and students.
Qualifications include a medical degree from an LCME-accredited school, current BC licensure, pediatric ICU experience, and transport medicine expertise. Additional subspecialty training in Pediatric Critical Care, Anesthesia, or Emergency Medicine is advantageous.
