Job summary

Prairie Mountain Health seeks a Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant to perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostics, and participate in clinical rounds. The role requires licensure with CPSM and completion of an approved PA/Clinical Assistant program.

Candidate must demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and IT skills, with the ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team in a changing healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Eligible for licensure with CPSM as Physician Assistant or Clinical Assistant.
• Graduate of an accredited medical program in Canada or abroad.
• Must have one of: Clinical Assistant Assessment, NAC OSCE, or LMCC.
• Candidate must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Educational Program acceptable to CPSM.
• Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and Internet applications.

• Graduate of an accredited Medical in Canada or abroad
• One of the following: Clinical Assistant Assessment or NAC OSCE or LMCC
• Candidates must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant Educational Program acceptable to CPSM

Position Summary

The Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistant will be required to perform physical examinations, and perform, order, and interpret diagnostic, therapeutic investigations/interventions.

Physician Assistant/Clinical Assistants will be required to attend clinical and educational rounds. Administrative requirements will include standard of practice recordings of all patient encounters, these methods may require dictating or utilizing electronic medical records where/when available. Assistants must be able to communicate effectively in English with other members of interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

Overview

• Perform, order and interpret diagnostic, therapeutic investigations/interventions
• Perform physical exams
• Take medical histories
• Make diagnoses and develop management plans
• Counsel on preventative health care
• Arrange consults and referrals
