Job summary

Lumentum Canada is seeking a Product Environmental Compliance Engineer to join our Ottawa-based team on-site. You will collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Sales to ensure products comply with environmental laws throughout their lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years' experience in environmental compliance and hold a Bachelor's or Master's in Environmental Engineering or related field. You will work with global regulations including EU RoHS, REACH, and WEEE.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Materials Science or related technical discipline.
3–5 years' experience in environmental compliance, product stewardship or sustainability in manufacturing/engineering.

Responsibilities

Review supplier material declarations, technical specs and test reports for compliance.
Analyze BOMs and materials against global environmental regulations.
Prepare product compliance declarations and Full Material Declarations (FMDs).
Respond to customer environmental compliance inquiries and questionnaires.
Support engineering change processes to maintain product compliance.
Collect and analyze supplier conflict minerals data and produce consolidated product reports.
Conduct Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and report findings.
Monitor changes in global environmental legislation and advise on compliance requirements.
