Job summary

Alberta Precision Labs is seeking a Laboratory Assistant I for the Inpatient Collections at the University of Alberta Hospital. You will perform high-quality blood collection services as part of a collaborative healthcare team, primarily focused on adult collections with potential pediatric training in the future.

This role requires careful attention to detail, strong time management, and teamwork in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
• Recent phlebotomy experience within the last 6 months.
• Recent experience in using Rover within the last 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality blood collection services in the Inpatient Collections at the University of Alberta Hospital.
• Assist with procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens.
• Maintain quality control and facility equipment; assist with specimen preparation for transport.
