Job summary

The Food Bank of Waterloo Region is seeking a Philanthropy Officer to strengthen relationships with mid-level donors and emerging major gift prospects. You will collaborate with our philanthropy, marketing, and partnerships teams to grow giving and awareness for food, funds, and community support.

You will manage donor portfolios, develop stewardship and grant strategies, and help advance foundation funding and planned giving initiatives in a dynamic nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in fundraising, major or mid-level donor engagement, philanthropy, or business development.
• Experience managing donor, client, customer, and stakeholder relationships.
• Experience preparing donor communications, proposals, grants, presentations, and reports.
• Experience using Raiser's Edge or a comparable CRM.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors and emerging major gift prospects.
• Develop cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and retention strategies.
• Build and maintain donor relationships through meetings, tours, events, and other engagement opportunities.
• Support foundation funding, donor stewardship, and planned giving initiatives.
• Coordinate donor recognition, appreciation, and engagement activities.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to share donor impact stories.
