How you will make a difference:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Mid-Level Giving, the Philanthropy Officer, Mass-Managed, will lead the program management for the mid-level donor segment, collaborating closelywithcross-functional teams to ensure a seamless and optimized donor journey. They will serve as the primary point of contact for all non-officered Leadership donors. This role requires a proactive, collaborative individual with excellent relationship-building skills and strong data management capabilities.

Revenue:

  • Manage a portfolio of unofficered mid-level giving donors through the implementation and management of strategies aimed at increasing donor revenue from this donor segment.
  • Meet annual revenue and donor growth targets within the mid-level giving segment.
  • Increase leadership donors to help us strengthen and grow our donor pipeline
  • Monitor and track incoming gifts, following up with outstanding donors to ensure we meet our fundraising targets


Team Collaboration & Management:

  • Lead cross-functional projects in collaboration with the fundraising, operations, and donor experience teams to effectively manage and implement mass donor outreach aimed at onboarding, renewing, and upgrading donors.
  • Donor Engagement & Relationship Building:
  • Oversee United Way’s Leadership Inbox and phoneline, triaging inquiries by either assigning them to Mid-level Officer (MLO) or responding directly, while providing exceptional customer service to foster lasting relationships with United Way Greater Toronto.
  • Proactively engage with mid-level donors to strengthen their connection with United Way Greater Toronto and gain insight into their current and potential future giving capacity
  • Manage a high volume of thank-you calls to non-officered donors throughout the year, ensuring appreciation and recognition are consistently communicated.
  • Lead the Retention Call Process for community donors in collaboration with the Corporate Donor Relations team, identifying opportunities to strengthen donor loyalty.


Communication & Stewardship:

  • By available engagement materials, craft personalized communications to steward donor audience and lead to further connection to United Way’s work
  • Work closely with operations and donor experience teams to monitor incoming gifts and ensure prompt and efficient stewardship of donor contributions.


Data Management & Analysis:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the database for assigned portfolio, ensuring all donor information is meticulously tracked and reported.
  • Oversee the cleanliness of donor data within the mass-managed segment, proactively managing data integrity within project reports.
  • Collect and document insights from donor interactions, utilizing this information to continuously refine and improve the donor experience, particularly for mid-level and beyond.
  • Miscellaneous:
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the strategic goals and mission of United Way Greater Toronto.


What you bring to the role:

  • 1 - 3 years’ experience in fundraising, preferably in individual giving
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage constituent relationships Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and collaboration skills including the ability to work respectfully and inclusively with a diverse constituent population
  • Proven organizational abilities and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Proven ability to take initiative and carry projects to completion with minimum supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills with proven success at identifying, resolving, and escalating (where needed) issues
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven track record of accuracy
  • Advanced MS Office skills and extensive experience with complex databases, ideally with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud preferred platforms
  • Willingness to actively contribute to the organizational equity framework through participation in learning opportunities and implementing anti-oppressive, and anti-racist learnings into action internally and externally
