THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Officer (Mid-level Giving) is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of donors giving between $1,000 – $4,999 annually. This role also leads the mid-level direct response program, implementing a blend of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to acquire, engage, and retain mid-level donors.

This role focuses on building a pipeline from mass market to mid-level cultivation by fostering meaningful relationships, enhancing donor retention, and growing revenue, bridging between individual giving, major gifts, and planned giving.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for the implementation of the mid-level program to achieve revenue targets and metrics aligned with the organizational growth and ambition.
  • Develop and manage the mid-level portfolio of donors and prospects through the moves management cycle, utilizing a blend of direct marketing and relationship development tactics.
  • Identify opportunities to build pipeline from mass market to mid-level by working closely with the Direct Marketing, Specialist, Research & Prospect Management and Major Gifts teams, this includes development of new donor segmentation and regular portfolio reviews.
  • Create and implement campaigns for the mid-level program, consisting of developing campaign strategies, creative development and plans for multi-channel integration.
  • Lead, develop and oversee implementation of operational plans for mid-level supporter engagement & stewardship.
  • Prepare and maintain regular reports on mid-level giving performance and deliverables, identifying successes, challenges/risks and mitigation measures.
  • Utilize CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) to track donor interactions, monitor engagement, and report on key performance metrics.

Qualifications include (but are not limited to):

  • Post-secondary education in relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in fundraising with a focus on individual giving.
  • Demonstrated direct mail experience with knowledge of best practices fundraising, acquisition, retention.
  • Experience developing and/or implementing annual and/or mid-level plans.
  • Demonstrated experience with fundraising to build relationships and acquire donations from individual donors.
  • Established record of accomplishment of independent judgment and financial accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office programs, CRM (e.g. Raisers Edge NXT and Salesforce), project management tools (e.g. Asana).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with courage, resilience, and initiative—critical traits for building and leading a new fundraising program.

WHAT WE OFFER

This position salary range between$61,788.85 – $78,336.70CAD depending on skills and experience. In addition to this, our employees will have the following package of additional benefits:
