Job summary

Manitoulin Health Centre is seeking a Philanthropy Coordinator to lead fundraising, donor relations, stewardship and community engagement in support of our strategic priorities.

You will develop fundraising plans, oversee campaigns and events, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to grow philanthropic support, while maintaining donor records and preparing impact reports. Hybrid or partial remote work is available based on operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in non-profit management, business administration, communications, marketing or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, communications, fundraising/foundation operations, donor relations.
  • Experience in healthcare, not-for-profit or public sector environments is asset.

  • Leads fundraising, donor stewardship initiatives to support MHC’s strategic plan, operational plan, and fundraising priorities.
  • Develops and implements fundraising strategies and campaigns to maximize revenue, donor engagement, and community support.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with donors, prospective donors, Board members, hospital leadership, and community stakeholders to inspire philanthropic investment in MHC.
  • Ensures effective donor stewardship, including timely recognition, ongoing engagement, and clear communication of the impact of donations.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential donor records, ensuring seamless donation processing and compliance with applicable privacy, regulatory, and audit requirements.

Philanthropy Coordinator – Permanent Part-Time
YOUR OPPORTUNITY:

Manitoulin Health Centre is seeking an enthusiastic individual to lead fundraising, donor relations, stewardship, and community engagement initiatives in support of our strategic priorities!

In this role you will develop and implement fundraising plans, manage donor relations, oversee campaigns and events, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to increase philanthropic support and community awareness.

Starting wage: $41.22-$44.82 per hour based on experience
Up to 14% in lieu of benefits

Due to the nature of this position, MHC offers flexibility and work may be performed on a hybrid or partially remote basis, subject to operational requirements.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads fundraising, donor stewardship initiatives to support MHC’s strategic plan, operational plan, and fundraising priorities.
Develops and implements fundraising strategies and campaigns to maximize revenue, donor engagement, and community support.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with donors, prospective donors, Board members, hospital leadership, and community stakeholders to inspire philanthropic investment in MHC.
Ensures effective donor stewardship, including timely recognition, ongoing engagement, and clear communication of the impact of donations.
Maintains accurate and confidential donor records, ensuring seamless donation processing and compliance with applicable privacy, regulatory, and audit requirements.
Monitors fundraising trends, opportunities, and best practices to inform innovation and continuous improvement.
Prepares and presents regular reports, including campaign updates, dashboards, and revenue tracking to support decision-making.
Leads and coordinates fundraising initiatives and projects, ensuring timely execution and providing regular status updates to leadership.
Creates compelling donor communications and reports that demonstrate the meaningful impact of philanthropic support.
Researches and prepares grant applications.
Manages the MHC’s fundraising digital presence, including social media platforms and website content.
Fosters positive relationships with media, businesses, and community organizations.
Represents MHC at community events to elevate profile and position the organization as a charity of choice.
Coordinates donor and prospect engagements, including site visits and tours
Liaises with communication on all fundraising related projects.
Collaborates with hospital leadership to align fundraising priorities with clinical and capital needs, ensuring clarity of funding priorities.
Occasional evening and weekend work is required to support events, campaigns and organizational priorities.

YOUR COMPETENCIES:

You have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
You have strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
You would bring well developed analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with sound decision making skills.
You showcase leadership capability, including the ability to take initiative, work independently, and drive results.
You have experience in fundraising and/or event planning and a proficiency in social media platforms and digital engagement tools.
You are effective at project management and multitasking, with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously.
You work with knowledge of ethical fundraising practices and applicable standards.
You exercise discretion, sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
You have excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) and patient information systems.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Education, Certifications, Experience, Licensure):
Required:

Post-secondary education in non-profit management, business administration, communications, marketing or related field.
3-5 years of experience in fundraising, communications, fundraising/foundation operations, donor relations.
Experience in healthcare, not-for-profit or public sector environments is considered an asset.
