Responsibilities

• Maintain inventories of medications and prescription records.
• Prepare compounded oral solutions, ointments, and creams.
• Bill third party insurers.
• Enter client information in databases and prepare medications.
• Perform clerical duties to ensure pharmacy efficiency.
• Answer calls, manage cash register, restock shelves.
• Direct prescription and medication questions to the pharmacist.
• Restock medications and supplies on shelves.
• Apply labels to medications and assist with receipt of goods.
• Respond to emails and faxes; print prescription labels.
• Keep work areas organized and clean.
• Support pharmacological services by assembling, sorting, stocking, labelling and distributing medications.
• Undertake administrative tasks as assigned by a Physician or facility manager.
• Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by following regulations.
• Deliver medications to patients and departments to ensure availability.
• Count and pour medications accurately from stock.
• Communicate with healthcare providers to ensure prescription accuracy.
• Collect payments for prescriptions; maintain inventory levels.
