What You'll Do:

  • Retrieve faxed or electronic physician orders, prescriptions or requests for prescription refills
  • Leverage your pharmacy and customer service expertise to accurately input patient prescriptions into our pharmacy computer systems
  • Accurately process patient and resident prescriptions, and any changes, and refills
  • Create new patient profiles and maintain existing records housed in our internal patient database
  • Input and update patient and resident electronic records in Kroll
  • Prepare and review prescription labels for printout
  • Demonstrate superior customer service when discussing important information between colleagues and external partners (physicians and nurses in the facilities we service), as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • This role requires employees to be flexible to work a variety of shifts during the business’ hours of operations, which include occasional weekend shifts and statutory holidays.

What You'll Need:

  • Minimum 1 year working experience in a pharmacy
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a passion for providing superior customer service
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally
  • Strong computer skills, with the ability to navigate through a variety of computer systems quickly
  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills and attention to detail

Preferred:

  • Completion of a post-secondary program, focused on Pharmacy or health sciences; or previous experience as a Pharmacy Data Technician (2-3 years)
  • Previous work experience using Kroll
  • Previous experience in a long-term care pharmacy
  • Previous work experience with dispensing multi-dose packaging or compliance packaging
