Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support dispensing prescriptions and pharmacy operations in an Ontario store. You will help ensure timely, accurate service while maintaining patient privacy and safety.

Responsibilities include assisting the pharmacist, handling customer interactions, data entry, and processing prescriptions per Pharmacy Standards of Practice. Prior pharmacy experience is preferred, along with strong organization and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Assistant diploma or credited course preferred.
• Previous pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking ability.
• Problem solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and collect prescription information.
• Refer clinical inquiries to the pharmacist.
• Process prescriptions and cash out items in the dispensary.
• Ensure confidentiality and privacy in handling information.
• Assist pharmacist with prescription preparation and data entry.
• Adjudicate third-party billing and manage related accounts.
• Answer calls and coordinate with the pharmacist as needed.
