Job summary

CareRx Corporation in Sudbury, Ontario, is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant (Union) to join the Pharmacy team supporting LTC homes and retirement communities. You will assist with preparation, labeling, and packaging of medications, and help maintain daily pharmacy operations in line with the Pharmacy Standards of Practice.

This on-site role offers a stable schedule, competitive compensation around $19.21 per hour, and benefits for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program is preferred, but training will be provided.
• Experience with KROLL and PacMed is an asset.
• Basic working knowledge of pharmacy inventory processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure precise record-keeping and prescription information from nursing staff.
• Prepare and label medication for compliance packaging and maintain workflow for processing prescriptions.
• Processing refills in Kroll.
• Packaging medications (blister packs, vials, strips).
• Synchronizing data with PacMed machine.
• Completing corrections of medication rolls through PacVision.
• Assist with inventory management and operate PacMed dispensing machine.
• Manage returns and expired products from nursing homes.
• Preparing creams and liquids.
• Generate daily and weekly production reports.
• Maintain stock levels and restock shelves.
• Prepare manual and automated compliance packaging.
• Maintain confidentiality and a clean pharmacy environment.
