Job summary

Otter Co-op invites applications for a Full-Time Pharmacy Assistant at our Langley Retail Centre in Langley, BC. You will support pharmacists, ensure safe patient care, and deliver excellent customer service in a collaborative team environment.

Requirements include a Pharmacy Technician Diploma, 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience, and flexibility to work 7 days a week. Benefits include competitive wages, benefits, and a strong co-op culture.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant pharmacy assistant experience in a retail pharmacy.
• Diploma from a recognized Pharmacy Technician Training course.
• Pharmacy experience in a dispensary with 1,000+ hours is an asset.
• Pharmacy salesperson/OTC Associate with 1,000+ hours is an asset.
• Strong understanding of computer applications and Microsoft Word.
• Able to adapt to dispensary functions and workflows.
• Must be available 7 days a week for varied shifts (mornings/afternoons/evenings).
• Based at Langley Retail Centre with potential travel to other locations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming experience for every patient.
• Support pharmacists in preparation and dispensing of prescriptions with accuracy and speed.
• Process prescriptions, refill requests, and patient information using pharmacy software.
• Direct clinical and medication questions to the pharmacist.

What you will do:

As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will support our pharmacists in delivering safe, accurate, and efficient patient care while providing exceptional customer service. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will help ensure the smooth operation of the pharmacy and contribute to an outstanding patient experience.

• Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming experience for every patient.
• Support pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions with accuracy and efficiency.
• Process prescriptions, refill requests, and patient information using pharmacy software.
• Direct clinical and medication-related questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain medication and supply inventory, including receiving orders, stocking shelves, and removing expired products.
• OTC merchandising including, product assortment, shelf organization, product presentation, inventory management and promotional displays.
• Contact patients regarding prescription pickups and manage unclaimed prescriptions in accordance with pharmacy procedures.
• Maintain accurate records while ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Keep the dispensary clean, organized, and compliant with health, safety, and infection control standards.
• Work collaboratively with the pharmacy team to support efficient daily operations and an exceptional patient experience.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the pharmacy and its patients

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations as well as have:

• At least 2 years of relevant pharmacy assistant experience in a retail pharmacy
• Diploma from a recognized Pharmacy Technician Training course
• Pharmacy experience in a dispensary working a minimum of 1,000 hours is an asset
• Pharmacy salesperson/OTC Associate with a minimum of 1,000 hours is an asset
• Strong understanding of computer applications and Microsoft Word
• Strong aptitude to adapt to dispensary functions
• Must be available 7 days a week to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons and evenings
• This position is based at the Langley Retail Centre, though it may require on some occasions to travel and work at other locations as business needs arise
