Job summary

Lawtons is seeking a friendly and professional Pharmacy Assistant to join our East River Road team in New Glasgow, NS. You will process prescriptions, handle refills, and support daily pharmacy operations to ensure accurate dispensing and excellent patient care.

Preferred candidates hold a Pharmacy Assistant Diploma, with prior pharmacy experience considered an asset. Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are essential, along with adherence to

• Pharmacy assistant diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail; ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Adhere to and implement applicable company standards.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions).
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries.
• Pill Pack Assembly.
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning.
• Drug order creation and receiving.
• Schedule professional clinical services (e.g., medication reviews, health risk assessments).
• BTC management and administrative duties (cycle counts, narcotic counts, returns to stocks).
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required.

Here’s where you’ll have an impact:

What you bring to the table:

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
