A regional health authority is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant II in Terrace, Canada. The successful candidate will work under a pharmacist to dispense medications, manage stock control, and prepare IV solutions. Candidates must have completed a recognized Pharmacy Assistant course, possess effective communication skills, and have at least two years of related experience. Reports to the Manager or designate. Under direction from a pharmacist, dispenses, manufactures, packages, labels, stores, and distributes pharmaceuticals and prepares intravenous (IV) and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) solutions. Records narcotic and controlled drug use and maintains stock control. Position will be part of a future rotation that includes weekends.
Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00
The new Ksyen Regional Hospital welcomed its first patients on November 24, 2024. More than double the size of the previous hospital, the facility features 82 beds, private rooms, and is a centre for trauma services, orthopedic surgeries, pathology, radiology, clinical support, and pharmacy services. The hospital is also a training site for medical students in the Northern Medical Program.
The thriving community of Terrace is northern living at its best. Snow-capped mountains, pristine glacier-fed rivers, lakes and streams all add to the beauty of this community. The main industries in Terrace are communications, transportation and natural resources. The population is approximately 12,700.
