Shoppers Drug Mart in Mississauga is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant to support the technical functions of dispensing prescriptions, assist in pharmacy services, and help maintain the pharmacy according to Pharmacy Standards of Practice while delivering superior, timely service to customers.

The role involves greeting customers, processing prescriptions, assisting the pharmacist with inquiries, handling orders, and data entry, while upholding patient confidentiality and accuracy in the pharmacy

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Assistant diploma preferred.
• Previous Pharmacy Experience preferred.
• Effective organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and collect prescription information per standards.
• Refer clinical inquiries to the pharmacist.
• Set realistic wait-time expectations for customers.
• Locate and cash out prescriptions and any ancillary items.
• Ensure customers requiring counseling are referred to the pharmacist.
• Maintain and manage the cash register in the dispensary.
• Adhere to confidentiality and privacy requirements.
