Job summary

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Assistant for our Prince Albert-Central Ave location. You will support pharmacists, greet customers, and help with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

The role involves stocking, inventory checks, and maintaining a clean pharmacy area. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

  • Foundational understanding of pharmacy operations and business practices.

Responsibilities

  • Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care.

  • Enter, label and package prescriptions under supervision.
  • Accurately count, measure and package medications per protocol.
  • Receive and stock medications and monitor inventory levels.
  • Keep the pharmacy area clean and dispose of expired meds safely.
  • Perform clerical tasks and assist with insurance claims and transfers.
  • Assist with daily operations and other duties as assigned.

Job description

Pharmasave #400 is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Prince Albert-Central Ave, Saskatchewan.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities
  • Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
  • Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
  • Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
  • Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
  • Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
  • Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
  • Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy setting, with a foundational understanding of pharmacy operations and business practices.
  • Highly skilled in the use of Kroll, with strong accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry.
  • Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Schedule
  • 40 hours per week.
  • The store is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • This role requires working one (1) Saturday shift each month.
  • 8-hour shift
