Job summary

CareRx Corporation seeks a Pharmacist, Quality Assurance (Temporary Full Time) for Burnaby, BC. You will ensure safe, accurate dispensary operations and act as SME on regulatory compliance, billing initiatives, and controlled substances policy adherence.

The role collaborates with the Pharmacy Manager and supports incident investigations, data analysis, and quality improvement initiatives while maintaining high standards of practice.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
• Proven ability to foster strong partnership with health care team.
• Effective organization, planning, and time management skills.
• Knowledge of Kroll Windows application preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization abilities.
• Self-directed with minimal supervision.
• Motivated to achieve high-quality results.
• Good listening skills and adaptability to changes in job environment.
• Long-term pharmacy experience is an asset but not required.
• Injections and APA certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

The Pharmacist, Quality Assurance is responsible for ensuring that daily pharmacy dispensary operations are carried out safely, accurately and efficiently to support the timely delivery of CareRx pharmacy services. This role upholds all internal policies and external regulatory requirements while maintaining high standards of operational and clinical quality. Working in collaboration with the Pharmacy Manager, the incumbent will act as the Subject Matter Expert on regulatory and compliance matters, billing initiatives, controlled substance policy adherence, medication incident investigations and data analysis.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Regulatory & Compliance Responsibilities

• Manages and supports employees in areas related to regulatory and compliance requirements, billing initiatives, and controlled substances policy adherence.
• Serves as a subject matter expert on College of Pharmacists of BC regulatory standards, providing operational guidance and best practice learnings .
• Oversees the accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of medication reviews, ensuring they are completed and maintained as required.
• Provides compliance-focused training to registered staff to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency of services focused training to registered staff to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency of services.

Medication Incident Management

• Investigates medication incident reports by conducting detailed evaluations, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions.
• Collaborates with the Assistant Pharmacy Manager, Operations to develop and implement corrective action plans that prevent incident recurrence.
• Communicates incident findings, corrective actions, and recommendations to facility staff and relevant stakeholders.

Operational & Project Support

• Provides project support as required .
• Supports pharmacy operations within the scope of their designation, as needed.

What You Will Bring to The Team:

Compensation Range:

$50 - $55 per hour. Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate's credentials and experience.

Location:

This role will be on site at our Burnaby Pharmacy (8525 Commerce Court) location

Work Shifts:

Monday to Friday with ocassional weekend. Shift times are between 8:00am to 5:00pm. All pharmacist are required to participate in the on call weekend rotation.
