Position: Pharmacist (Per Diem Days)

Responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating with the Director of Pharmacy to compound and dispense medications and pharmaceutical supplies based on written prescriptions from physicians.
  • Participating in Performance Improvement plans within the hospital.
  • Consulting with and advising administration, medical staff, and hospital staff on quality, regulatory, and risk issues.
  • Supporting and serving as a consultant to clinical and medical staff.
  • Assisting the Director in coordinating and implementing pharmacy activities.
  • Interpreting medication orders, and dispensing medications in accordance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.
  • Supervising technical support staff.
  • Assisting with clinical, quality management, and educational programs.
  • Providing support for all departments regarding patient care for individuals aged 18 and older, including geriatric patients aged 65 and older.
  • Performing clinical duties such as renal dosing, drug regimen review, and monitoring antibiotics and anticoagulants.

Qualifications include a PharmD or hospital pharmacy experience, with a minimum of three months in hospital pharmacy. Residency or PharmD degree preferred. Knowledge of OSHA, JCAHO, HCFA, and state guidelines is required. Experience in team facilitation and policy writing is also preferred.

Pay Range: $60.00 - $76.09 per hour
