Job summary

Mint Health + Drugs is seeking a Floater Pharmacist to join our team. You will assess patient health, counsel on medications, and provide clinical services across clinics and hospitals to support care continuity.

Responsibilities include administering vaccinations, adapting prescriptions, and ensuring accurate dispensing. A PharmD or B.Pharm degree with licensure eligibility and APA certification is advantageous, and collaboration with diverse teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • PharmD or B.Pharm degree required.
  • Active or eligible for provincial licensure.
  • Experience in hospital or direct patient care preferred.
  • Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search required.
  • Strong clinical assessment and communication skills; able to work independently or in a team.
  • Experience with electronic health records (e.g., Kroll) and medication order entry systems.
  • APA prescribing authority certification is an asset.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Patient Care & Counseling: Assess patient health, manage medication therapy for chronic/acute conditions, and provide education on medications.
  • Clinical Services: Administer vaccinations (injections), adapt prescriptions, and manage drug therapy to prevent and treat health disorders.
  • Dispensing & Compounding: Prepare, package, and distribute medications, ensuring accuracy in dosage, labeling, and storage.
  • Collaboration: Work within multidisciplinary teams (in clinics/hospitals) to optimize patient care and transition plans.
  • Drug Information: Act as a drug information resource for patients and other health professionals.
What You’ll Bring
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
  • Licensure: Active or eligible for registration with the applicable provincial pharmacy regulatory body
  • Experience: Previous experience in a hospital setting or in direct patient care is often preferred.
  • Screening: A satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search are required.
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, effective communication (verbal and written), and the ability to work independently or within a team.
  • Technology: Experience using electronic health records (e.g., Kroll) and medication order entry systems.
  • Certification: Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA).
