Job summary

Pharmacist (Contract) - Kingston

Purpose

The Pharmacist contributes to the overall function of the pharmacy by helping with dispensing, counselling, and reviewing orders. They assist in the leadership of the pharmacy by maintaining efficient workflow and training new staff.

Salary: $52-$55/hr

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide professional functions related to dispensing and pharmaceutical care
  • Participate in dispensing, triage of new orders, computer entry, sterile compounding (where applicable), collation of data, counselling patients, and clinical reviews
  • Problem solve and discuss prescription related issues with clinicians and Care Coordinators
  • Ensure the accuracy of prescriptions dispensed and third‑party billing
  • Provide professional functions related to dispensing including pharmaceutical care, patient counseling, Med Reviews and Professional Opinions, liaise with other healthcare professionals, and document interventions and dialogue
  • Assist the Pharmacy Manager in training staff
  • Provide supervision and leadership in the pharmacy team in maintaining an efficient workflow process
  • Infusion specific: participate in an on‑call rotation
  • Work evening and weekend hours
  • Research the compatibility and stability of infusion admixtures
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year Pharmacist experience
  • Must be licensed and in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists and adhere to the Standards of Practice
  • Must be trained and registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
  • Experience with Kroll is an asset
  • Experience with sterile compounding is an asset (where applicable)
  • Punctual and a team player
  • Bilingual is an asset
