Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Manager of Clinical Services, the Pharmacist will provide direct pharmaceutical care to inpatients and outpatients as part of the interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include patient counseling, medication monitoring, student mentoring, drug utilization reviews, liaising with community pharmacists, and providing education and drug information. The Pharmacist may also participate in clinical pharmacy research involving the Clinical Division Manager.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized School of Pharmacy
• Eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists
• Completion of a hospital pharmacy residency or equivalent direct patient care experience (minimum 2 years) in a hospital setting preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Knowledge of medication safety and therapeutics required
• Experience in evidence-based clinical research and critical appraisal of scientific literature is an asset
• Strong teaching and communication skills required
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team required
• Ability to prioritize and work under pressure required
• Interest in professional development and lifelong learning required
• Competency in additional languages, especially French, is an asset

Hours and Compensation

Hourly rate: $47.03 - $58.77
