Qualifications

This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager and is responsible for receiving, preparing, and delivering prescriptions accurately and timely. It involves ensuring adequate inventory levels to meet patient needs, counseling patients with appropriate documentation, and creating awareness and education about health services.

What You'll Do
  1. Prepare, dispense, and control medications accurately and timely for patients.
  2. Ensure inventory levels of medications and over-the-counter supplements are sufficient to meet patient needs.
  3. Counsel patients regarding new and additional medications in a friendly, positive, and proactive manner.
  4. Create awareness and educate customers through public relations activities (public health days, clinics, etc.).
  5. Provide timely and positive resolutions to patient needs and doctor requests/issues.
  6. Review and control costs within the Loblaw Pharmacy dispensary.
  7. Provide ongoing training for new and existing pharmacy colleagues, including technicians, interns, students, and IPGs.
What You’ll Need
  1. Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Class A Pharmacist license.
  2. APA (Additional Prescribing Authority) certification.
  3. Superior customer relation skills and professionalism.
  4. Excellent leadership and performance management skills.
  5. Proven ability to build the business using community-based marketing strategies.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills with experience in formulating and executing action plans.
  8. Personal computing skills and knowledge of Healthwatch and/or KROLL Pharmacy Computer systems are assets.
