Join our pharmacy team

Provide safe and effective medication preparation and distribution across all clinical units and outpatient areas at Humber River Health.

Our Pharmacy department plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe distribution and service of medications, facilitating successful patient treatment outcomes in compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards. As we expand our pharmacy operations, we are seeking a Registered Pharmacist to join our team.

Are you a qualified Registered Pharmacist, comfortable with technology, and a strong team player capable of working effectively with fellow pharmacists and other team members? Employment details
  • Employment Status: Full Time
  • Hours of work: Rotating shifts (Monday to Friday, weekends, and statutory holidays). Part-time and temporary staff must be available for 3-4 shifts per week, including weekends, based on operational needs.
  • Location: May require travel among all HRH sites
  • Labour Group: OPSEU 590
  • Reporting Relationship: Manager, Pharmacy Services
  • Hourly Salary: $48.21 - $64.50
Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to improve patient quality of life.
  • Review physician’s orders, maintain computerized medication profiles, prepare IV admixtures, TPN, pediatric and chemotherapy medications, provide drug information, monitor drug therapy, and report adverse reactions.
  • Use CPOE and verify prescriptions in MEDITECH, monitor pharmacotherapy, check chemotherapy and select medications for dispensing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Pharm D is an asset.
  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A) required.
  • Hospital experience in unit dose and/or IV additive preferred.
  • Hospital residency or equivalent is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Ability to instruct and teach staff.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to identify, prevent, and resolve drug-related problems.
  • Understanding of change management and proactive in addressing change needs.
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline record.

Vacancies will be filled in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 590.
