Qualifications

  • Must be licensed with the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
  • Injection certification and Certified Diabetes Educator required.

Responsibilities

  • Determine appropriateness of drug therapy and monitor medication therapy.
  • Counsel patients on prescriptions and health issues.

Neighbourly Pharmacy is hiring a full-time Staff Pharmacist to join our team at Sandstone Pharmacies Glenmore Landing in Calgary, AB. We provide full pharmacy team support, progressive pharmacy practice, and friendly staff.

Patient-Focused Care Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacist will work to the full scope of practice, enhancing patient health by administering safe, effective drug therapy. Responsibilities include:

  • Determining the appropriateness of drug therapy
  • Monitoring medication therapy for effectiveness, adverse reactions, and interactions
  • Counseling patients on prescriptions, OTC products, and health issues
  • Answering patient questions requiring therapeutic knowledge
  • Providing clinical services for eligible patients
  • Administering injections/immunizations as needed
  • Promoting health and wellness through education
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
  • Supervising pharmacy students or provisional pharmacists
  • Adhering to pharmacy regulations
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development
  • Performing other duties as required

Technical Skills:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Teamwork abilities

Education and Experience:

  • Licensed with the Alberta College of Pharmacy
  • Injection certification required
  • Certified Diabetes Educator
  • Additional Prescribing Authorization is an asset
