Responsibilities

• Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living in accordance with corporate policy, established standards, and recognized nursing practice.
• Assist registered staff in nursing diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
• Complete all documentation on time, ensuring it is current and accurate.
• Ensure a holistic, quality approach to resident care aligned with RhynoCare’s Mission, Vision, Values, and the Resident Bill of Rights.
• Support resident meal service and restorative nursing.
• Coordinate activities for effective resident care during shifts and across the unit.
• Execute care according to legislation, best practices, and policies.
• Participate in risk management and quality improvement programs.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation of all care provided.
• Mentor new staff / students and promote educational opportunities.
• Engage in departmental, interdisciplinary, and safety meetings.
• Foster teamwork among staff and adhere to health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient in verbal and written English; second language skills are an asset.
• Meet one of the following criteria :

Completion of a Ministry of Education approved PSW Training Program (minimum 640 hours) from a recognized institution OR

• RN, RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy students with Year 1 completed.
• Experience as a Facility PSW is an asset.
• Negative T.B. skin test or chest x-ray.
• Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid certificates.
• Meet health surveillance requirements of the Public Hospitals Act.
• VSS within the past year confirming no criminal record.
