Responsibilities
  1. Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living in accordance with corporate policy, established standards, and recognized nursing practice.
  2. Assist the registered staff in nursing diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
  3. Complete all documentation on time, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.
  4. Ensure a holistic, quality approach to resident care aligned with RhynoCare’s Mission, Vision, Values, and the Resident Bill of Rights.
  5. Support resident meal services and restorative nursing efforts.
  6. Coordinate activities for effective resident care during shifts and across the unit.
  7. Perform care in accordance with legislation, best practices, and corporate policies.
  8. Participate in risk management and quality improvement programs related to resident care.
  9. Document all care accurately and promptly.
  10. Engage in mentoring new staff/students and promote educational opportunities.
  11. Participate in safety meetings and promote teamwork among staff.
  12. Adhere to health and safety procedures, including PPE use and proper body mechanics.
Qualifications
  1. Must be at least 18 years old.
  2. Proficient in verbal and written English; second language skills are an asset.
  3. Completion of a Ministry-approved PSW Training Program (minimum 640 hours) or relevant healthcare student status.
  4. Experience as a Facility PSW is an asset.
  5. Negative TB test or chest x-ray.
  6. Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid certification.
  7. Meet health surveillance requirements of the Public Hospitals Act.
  8. VSS clearance within the past year.
