Responsibilities

1. Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living in accordance with corporate policy, standards, and nursing practice.
2. Assist registered staff with diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
3. Complete documentation accurately and timely, adhering to policies.
4. Deliver holistic, quality resident care aligned with RhynoCare’s Mission, Vision, Values, and the Resident Bill of Rights.
5. Support resident meal services and restorative nursing.
6. Coordinate activities for effective resident care during shifts and across the unit.
7. Follow current legislation, best practices, policies, and procedures in care execution.
8. Participate in risk management and quality improvement programs related to resident care.
9. Maintain accurate documentation for all care provided.
10. Mentor new staff/students and promote educational opportunities.
11. Participate in team, safety, and interdisciplinary meetings.
12. Promote teamwork and adherence to health and safety procedures, including proper equipment use and PPE.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient in verbal and written English; second language skills are an asset.
• Must meet one of the following:
• Completion of a Ministry-approved PSW Training Program (min. 640 hours), or
• RN, RPN, Paramedic, Occupational Therapy, or Physiotherapy students with Year 1 completion.
• Experience as a Facility PSW is an asset.
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray.
• Current CPR (BCLS) and First Aid certification.
• Meet health surveillance requirements under the Public Hospitals Act.
• VSS clearance within the past year confirming no criminal record.
