Job summary

RhynoCare is seeking an experienced Personal Support Worker to work in Long Term Care facilities in Timmins, ON. You will be hired and onboarded with RhynoCare as an Independent Contractor.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to speak a second language is considered an asset.
• Must meet one of the following criteria: PSW Training Program (minimum 640 hours) from a Community College or NACCs OR RN/RPN Year 1 completion.
• Experience working as a Facility PSW is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Observe, document, and promptly report changes in residents' physical, emotional or cognitive status to the primary nurse to support ongoing assessment and care planning.
• Complete all documentation on time, in accordance with corporate policies, ensuring it is current and accurate.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, toileting, and feeding, promoting dignity and independence.
• Assist in safe transfer, positioning, and mobility of residents using proper techniques and equipment, per facility policies.
• Provide care in accordance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, best practices, and corporate policies.
• Participate in agency risk management and quality improvement programs related to resident care.
• Participate in new staff/student mentoring and promote education opportunities.
• Attend departmental, interdisciplinary team and resident safety meetings.
• Promote teamwork between shifts and with registered and unregulated staff.
• Follow health and safety procedures, wear PPE when necessary.

• Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including:
• Use all equipment in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
• Follow established safety procedures for lock outs.
• Wear proper safety equipment and PPE when necessary.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Successful completion of a Ministry of Education approved PSW Training Program (minimum 640 hours) from a Community College or a school approved by the National Association of Career Colleges OR
  • RN/RPN students with successful completion of Year 1
• Experience working as a Facility PSW is considered an asset.

Compensation

• Pay: $23 / hour
