Job summary

ParaMed in Canada is seeking a part-time Personal Support Worker (PSW) to support patients at home and in community settings, helping with daily living activities.

You will assist with bathing, meals, mobility, light housekeeping, and companionship, while maintaining safety and dignity. A valid PSW certificate and a G/G2 license with reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Personal Support Worker certificate required.
• Ability to show compassion and care in patient interactions.
• Reliable and flexible with mobility to travel to homes.
• G or G2 driver’s licence with access to a vehicle.
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Screen is required.

Responsibilities

Job Description

As a Personal Support Worker (PSW) you will be an integral part of the home and community care team. You will support, encourage and provide independence for patients in their homes and community settings by assisting with activities of daily living.

What you’ll do:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including skin, hair, and oral care along with bathing, toileting, & peri-care

• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, including special diets, as determined by the care plan

• Provide basic housekeeping tasks and companionship to help your patients enjoy a better quality of life

What you bring:

• Valid Personal Support Worker Certificate

• Ability to demonstrate compassion and care when interacting with patients

• Reliability and flexibility

• Passion for making a difference in your community

• Valid G or G2 driver’s license and access to a vehicle to travel to and from patient’s residences within a geographical area
