Job summary

Acclaim Health is hiring a Part-Time Personal Support Worker for the North Halton area, covering Milton and surrounding communities. The casual morning shift (6AM–2PM) requires availability two weekdays and every other weekend, with on-site duties in Milton, ON.

Qualifications

• Personal Support Worker Certificate or Diploma is required.
• Valid Ontario Driver’s license and insurance.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Current TB test.
• Palliative experience is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to use mechanical equipment (hoyer lifts) when required.
• Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Effective observation and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide homemaking and personal support services in community and retirement home settings.
• Assist clients with personal care and activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, dressing).
• Collaborate with health care team and families on planning and decisions.
• Provide bedside care in retirement homes as directed by Nurse or Supervisor.
• Assist with catheter and colostomy bag maintenance when required.
• Perform light housekeeping including client laundry and bedding as part of care plan.

Acclaim Health is currently hiring Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide community-based care across North Halton covering Milton, Acton, Campbellville, and Georgetown. Successful candidates must be available to work a minimum of two weekdays and every other weekend (both Saturday and Sunday) for morning shifts 6AM - 2PM.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Pay: CA$22.29- $23.39 per hour.
• This position is for an existing vacancy.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

• Provides homemaking and personal support services to individuals and families in the community and retirement home settings.
• Assist clients with their personal care and activities of daily living to clients, including bathing; grooming; dressing; mouth care; and checking skin integrity.
• Collaborates with members of the health care team, the homemaking and personal support services team and family in decision-making regarding planning.
• Provides bedside care in retirement homes as directed by the Nurse or otherwise directed by Supervisor.
• Assist with the maintenance of catheter and colostomy bags when required.
• Performs light housekeeping, including cleaning of clients personal laundry and bedding when required as part of the care plan.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Personal Support Worker Certificate or Diploma
• Valid Ontario Driver’s license and insurance
• Current CPR certificate
