Job description

Carecor is looking for dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Workers to join our amazing team working in Hamilton area hospitals. We’re ready when you are!

Under the direction of facility nursing staff, you will perform floor and observational care duties, helping to create an environment that promotes optimal physical, social, and emotional well-being for patients. For each assignment, you will be in one facility for a full 8-12 hour shift. This is a casual position with flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or enrolled in a Nursing pathway program or a Nursing student
• CPI Certification required (Crisis Prevention & Intervention Training Certificate) – preferred
• Clinical experience as a PSW within the past 2 years or at least 1 year in hospital/LTC clinical placement completed in a nursing program
• Experience working in a Mental Health Unit is highly preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and N95 Mask Fit Test Certificate
• Proof of current immunization for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (MMRV), Hepatitis B, and Tdap/Td
• Proof of negative TB skin test within the past year or negative chest x-ray within the past 5 years
• Willing to undergo Vulnerable Sector Police Check as a condition of hire
