Job Summary:
The PSW provides personal care and health maintenance to individuals and families in the home setting within the framework of VON philosophy, policies, procedures and standards, in community health care.
This position is eligible for the $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario Government for all hours spent directly caring for clients.
Are you a new graduate, retired PSW or PSW looking to enter back into the field? You may qualify for the Personal Support Worker Return of Service (PSW ROS) through Health Force Ontario. This program provides a $5,000 incentive to eligible PSWs in exchange for a 6-month commitment to an eligible employer. Responsibilities:
The successful candidates will be responsible for providing companionship, personal care and health maintenance services to clients in their home, within the framework of VON's philosophy, policies, standards and legislation.
Qualifications:
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail; Lift and carry using appropriate lifting techniques; Bend, push, pull, grip, reach, kneel, crouch using good body mechanics; Walk, sit, stand, climb stairs; Hand movements.
