Shannex Incorporated in Ancaster, Ontario is seeking casual Personal Support Workers to join the Parkland Ancaster team. You will assist residents with daily living activities, support care plan implementation, and promote a safe, compassionate living environment.

The role requires a valid PSW diploma, flexibility to work days, nights, weekends and holidays, and clear criminal record screening. English proficiency is essential; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid Personal Support Worker diploma.
• Experience with elderly in long-term care or senior living is an asset.
• English proficiency required; French considered an asset.

Responsabilités

• Assist residents with hygiene and daily living activities (bathing, dressing, oral care, meals, mobility).
• Collaborate with residents and interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans.
• Assist in planning and facilitating daily resident leisure activities.
• Assist with light housekeeping duties.
• Perform delegated nursing acts per policy and scope of practice.

About The Opportunity

• Assists residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignment.
• Collaborates with the resident and other members of the interdisciplinary team in the development of individualized Resident Care Plan.
• Assists in the planning and implementation of resident leisure activities daily.
• Assists with light housekeeping duties.
• Performs delegated nursing acts according to company policy and scope of practice.
• Communicates and reports relevant information regarding resident care or safety to Supervisor
• Additional duties as required
  

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:

• A valid Personal Support Worker diploma
• Ability to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening upon hire.
• Advanced proficiency in the English language is required, proficiency in French considered an asset.
• Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care course considered an asset.
• Previous working experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment an asset.
• A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
