Job summary

Sudbury Catholic District School Board is seeking a Cleaner for St. Paul School. The position is part-time and permanent, with 10 hours per week from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, flexible start/end, located in Northeastern Ontario.

Under supervision of Facility Services, cleaners perform custodial tasks to ensure clean and safe school environments. Requires high school diploma, basic computer skills, and English communication. Benefits package included.

Cleaner – Permanent, Part-time

St. Paul School - 10 hours per week (3:00 pm to 5:00 pm - start/end is flexible). The Sudbury Catholic District School Board is located in Northeastern Ontario and serves approximately 6,900 students in 17 schools located in Greater Sudbury, as well as in Killarney.

Under the direction of the Manager of Facility Services/designate, cleaners perform various duties related to the cleaning of our schools/buildings to ensure clean, safe and healthy working/learning conditions.

Required Qualifications / Skills / Abilities

Education / Certification

• Secondary (High) School diploma or equivalent

Required Knowledge

• Working knowledge of custodial processes and procedures and custodial cleaning/grounds equipment

Preferred Experience

• Minimum 1 year of institutional cleaning experience or equivalent

Skills / Abilities

• Basic computer skills, e.g. handling e-mails
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing (English)
• Ability to comprehend detailed instructions
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a team environment with a demonstrated customer service focus
• Ability to communicate and relate with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis

Physical Requirements

• Job requires frequent walking, reaching, bending/stooping when wiping surfaces, frequent pushing/pulling and gripping to hold all cleaning equipment and tools. Lift up to 25 lbs and in rare circumstances up to 75 lbs.

The Cleaner salary is $22.18 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefit package.
