HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

The instructor is accountable to the Program Chair or Designate for the following in accordance with NorQuest and FHS policies and procedures:

  • Course preparation for each course assigned includes updating course outlines, personalizing the course LMS shell, reviewing and updating class materials, activities and resources to ensure learning objectives are identified and met.
  • Plans for and develops materials for instruction in theory, lab, and clinical.
  • Deliver instruction across various health care settings, including labs, theory, and clinical placements.
  • Provides initial skill demonstration in theory class, supervises skill practice, and assesses skills for competency.
  • Adapt teaching materials and methods based on student needs and feedback.
  • Ensure students acquire necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes for safe practice.
  • Supervise and mentor students during practical experiences, providing constructive feedback on performance.
  • Maintain a supportive learning environment that fosters equity, diversity, inclusion, for student engagement and success.
  • Provides formative and summative feedback to learners in compliance with college and program policies.
  • Plans, modifies, and implements individual educational plans.
  • Inputs grades as required by college procedures and policies.
  • Maintains appropriate program and student records/reports of student progress in classroom, lab and clinical settings as assigned.
  • Implements Learning Improvement Plans after consultation with the Program Chair or designate
  • Work collaboratively to create and develop curricula that align with learning objectives and accreditation standards.
  • Participate in annual course and program review as required.
  • Follow lines of communication when issues or concerns arise and require escalation.
  • Ensures knowledge of all college procedures and policies.
  • Adheres to health and safety, program, and college policies and procedures.
  • Carries out instructional duties in theory, lab, and clinical settings.
  • Demonstrates professional conduct and attitudes.
  • Maintain all required certifications as required for the registration of your professional designation.
  • Ensures continuous learning through participation in professional development.
  • Participates in service work such as committees and projects as required to maintain the operation of NAME program.
  • Participated in college, or community committees, working groups and projects as required to support the program or faculty.

Any other duties as required for operational needs.

WHAT YOU BRING:

A degree in the field of studies for the PROGRAM (For example, for PND a degree in nursing or a related health field, or a level of education recognized in their field of studies may be considered)

  • At least 5 years of full-time experience in the PROGRAM SPECIFIC FIELD
  • Application of equity, diversity, and inclusion in practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to teach individuals at different skill levels.
  • Strong oral communication and writing skills.
  • Is passionate about PROGRAM and teaching technical skills to individuals interested in joining the Health Care industry.
  • Previous formal or informal teaching experience is an asset.
  • A strong understanding of teaching methodologies tailored to adult learners and international students, along with well-articulated teaching philosophy that reflects inclusivity, adaptability, and a commitment to learner-centered education is an asset.

SALARY: Reflective upon what you bring. AKA your education and experience. This is a faculty role therefore the pay range is quite large, the Faculty Association agreement Appendix A outlines how pay is determined.
